At YWAX we offer face and body waxing for all hair and skin types. Our experienced therapists work quickly and carefully to keep treatments as comfortable as possible. We use both hot wax and strip wax and choose the best option for each area.
How it works
Hot wax or strip wax is applied to the skin then removed to lift hair from the root. Most clients stay smooth for 3 to 6 weeks depending on growth cycles. Stay consistent with appointments and you will usually notice softer regrowth and reduced density over time.

• Hair length should be about a grain of rice, roughly 0.5 to 1 cm. If you shaved, allow 2 to 3 weeks of growth before your appointment.
• Clean skin is best. Shower before and lightly exfoliate the day before. Skip heavy creams or oils on the day.
• If you trim at home, keep it conservative so hair is still long enough to wax effectively.
• For facial waxing, tell us about any active skincare or prescription topicals.
Aftercare
• Cool or lukewarm shower. Apply a soothing product such as Laser Aid if the skin feels tender.
• Avoid tight clothing, heavy workouts, heat, pools and saunas for 24 hours.
• Avoid perfumed moisturisers and active ingredients on the area for 24 to 48 hours.
• Begin gentle exfoliation after 3 days and repeat twice weekly to help prevent ingrowns. Skinstitut Glycolic Scrub is a client favourite.
• Do not shave between waxes. Stay on a regular schedule for the best results.
