Piercings at YWAX
Show off some body bling with a safe and gentle piercing.
At YWAX we pierce ear lobes, helix (upper ear cartilage) and nose using the Studex push-through system – not a gun and not a freehand needle.
The jewellery itself makes the opening in one quick motion and comes individually sealed and autoclaved for perfect hygiene.
Why Choose YWAX
-
Safer method: No piercing gun, no separate needle.
-
Sterile jewellery: 316L surgical stainless steel, titanium, 24 ct gold plated or 14 ct solid gold – all nickel-safe and hypoallergenic.
-
Strict hygiene: Every stud is autoclaved and never handled until the moment of piercing.
Prices
(all include sterile Studex jewellery)
-
Single lobe or helix – $45
-
Pair of lobes – $50
-
Children’s lobes (two therapists at once) – $70
-
Nose – $70
-
After-care spray – $10 (essential unless you already have it)
We cannot insert jewellery brought from home, as non-sterile metals greatly increase infection risk.
Age & Consent
-
Babies from around 6 weeks old are welcome, however we recommend checking with your GP or child health nurse first to make sure your baby is ready and has received any vaccinations your doctor advises.
-
A parent or legal guardian must attend and sign consent for anyone under 16.
Healing Times
-
Ear lobes: change jewellery only after 4 – 6 weeks.
-
Helix / nose: change jewellery only after 10 – 12 weeks.
Essential After-Care
-
Clean 2–3 times daily with Studex Advanced Aftercare or Adnohr antiseptic spray.
-
Do not remove the stud while cleaning – gently slide and rotate to work antiseptic through.
-
Keep hairspray, shampoo and skincare away; rinse and re-clean after showering.
-
Avoid pools, spas, standing water and the ocean until fully healed.
-
Wear Studex sensitive-ear jewellery for the first 6 months.
-
Pain, redness, swelling or discharge is not normal. If any occur, remove the stud and seek medical advice.
Even with perfect care, a small number of piercings can be rejected by the body, but correct after-care keeps issues rare.
Walk-Ins & Bookings
Walk-ins are welcome, but bookings are preferred, especially for children’s double-operator piercings, so we can schedule two therapists together.
