“Hi lovely Clients,

For my existing clients – I just want to thank you for your loyalty. I know there is a lot of competition out there and the fact that you remain a loyal client of mine means a lot to me and I will do everything I can to ensure you get the optimal result as always.

To any new clients, allow me to introduce myself and tell you a bit about my background. I am a fully qualified medical doctor. Having completed my medical degree with first class honours at the University of Western Australia in 2000, I worked for several years at St Vincent’s and Prince of Wales hospital’s doing various terms in ear nose and throat surgery and emergency medicine.

My interest was sparked by the area of cosmetic medicine as I felt there was a need for a more subtle approach to cosmetic medicine. My approach has always been to make people look fresher and feel brighter. My conservative, natural approach to injectables complements my innate passion for people. I try to keep costs down to make treatment affordable and have a personal, tailor-made treatment plan for each individual client.

I look forward to meeting you at YWAX soon!

Best wishes, Dr Sarah x”

FAQ’s

ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS (Botulinum injections)

1. How do the injections work?

The protein in the anti-wrinkle injections bind to sites where nerves and muscles meet and prevent the nerve from stimulating the muscle to contract. The muscle is unable to contract fully and the formation of lines from muscular contraction is prevented. The frown lines aren’t able to be formed, crows feet diminish, and forehead lines are less distinct.

2. Are the injections safe?

The long term safety of these injections has been well established. They were first introduced in the 1960’s to help treat strabismus or eye squints. It was discovered that botulinum was very effective at reducing fine lines. There have been many long term studies of patients that have received botulinum injections and they all demonstrate long term safety. In the short term, there are some possible side effects including bruising, swelling and headache, which usually resolve its self within a few days.

3. How long do the injections take to work?

One normally sees the effect of the injections within a few days to maximum 2 weeks.

4. How long do the injections last?

3-4 months. Some individuals from 6 weeks to 6 months!

5. What happens when the injections wear off? Can i look worse?

After anti wrinkle injections ware off you will go back to normal. After you’ve had injections several times at an interval of about 3-4 months, you can drop the frequency down to 6 monthly or yearly.

DERMAL FILLERS

1. What are dermal fillers made of?

Hyaluronic acid. Our bodies have natural hyaluronic acid in them that plumps out our skin. The dermal fillers contain a synthetically produced hyaluronic acid that mimics our bodies natural hyaluronic acid.

2. What is the difference between dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections?

Dermal fillers are a gel mainly used to treat lines that aren’t created by muscle movement. Dermal fillers are used to plump lips, fill smokers lines, fill marionette lines and nasolabial folds, fill cheeks to lift the face and jowls, fill tear troughs and under eye hollows and other accordion lines at the side of the face.

3. Can you use anti-wrinkle injections and dermal Fillers together?

Absolutely. Depending on what area you are treating, they are work extremely well in combination.

4. How long will dermal fillers last?

6 months to 1 year. Longevity can range between individuals and be anywhere between 3 months to 1 year. Often people who exercise a lot, have a higher metabolism of dermal fillers which breaks them down faster (sometimes being a couch potato can be beneficial!)

5. What are the side effects of fillers?

The most common side effects of Fillers are bruising, swelling, and tiny “bumps” underneath the skin for a few days after the fillers are done. Gentle massage of the skin usually dissipates the bumps. All these potential side effects will be discussed with you before treatment.
